Introduction: SPB Dancing Diva, affectionately known as ‘Diva,’ is a 9-year-old 14hh palomino splash dun mare located in Tamborine, QLD. She is a striking 100% German Riding Pony by Noble Dancer IMP out of Diva Toscana IMP and is registered with ACE, EA, Part Welsh, Show Horse Council, Part Arabian, Dilute and Pinto registries.
Diva is a beautifully bred, quality performance pony with proven results at State level. She combines athleticism, education and presence, making her a genuine competition prospect for a serious rider.
Education, Skills & Experience: Diva is well educated and has experience across dressage, showing, 60-70cm showjumping and has also schooled cross-country. She has competed successfully, demonstrating her quality and consistency in the competition arena.
She is established in her flatwork. She willingly collects, is responsive under saddle and has the foundations required for continued progression in dressage and show disciplines.
Outside the arena, Diva has been trail ridden and is safe and quiet to ride near cattle and sheep. She has been lunged, ridden bareback and is safe for beginners on the lead and novices under instruction. She is not concerned by children in her vicinity, busy roads, farm machinery, livestock, dogs or fireworks. She is also comfortable being stabled full-time in a busy city stable environment.
Temperament & Rideability: Under saddle, Diva is willing and responsive with a natural ability to collect. She is generally calm and reliable, though not completely unflappable, and benefits from a confident rider who can maintain focus and consistency.
She can occasionally be sassy at the beginning of a ride and may hump slightly or show typical ‘marey’ behaviour, including kicking out at other horses. This is not a constant issue and she remains completely safe. She requires a rider who is not fazed by minor antics and can simply redirect her attention back to the job at hand.
Diva does not require regular riding to remain safe and sensible and is currently in light work one to two times per week.
Handling & Ground Manners: Diva is exceptionally easy to handle. She is easy to catch, well mannered on the ground and leads calmly and willingly. She ties up happily without fuss, self-loads or loads easily onto a float or truck and stands quietly while travelling.
She is easy and calm to clip, easy to wash and reliable for the farrier and veterinarian. She is tolerant of handler mistakes, unflappable and straightforward to manage in day-to-day situations.
Rider Suitability: Diva is best suited to a capable rider at a minimum. This is defined as someone who has been riding and competing regularly for at least five years, has independent hands and a balanced position and is confident in all situations.
She would suit a competitive child under 14, junior rider, young rider, amateur adult or mature rider who is under regular professional instruction. Due to her quality and ability, she is ideally suited to a serious competition home, with a dressage-focused home preferred.
Feeding & Management: As a pony type, Diva can gain weight on rich pasture and is therefore managed carefully. She is currently kept in a paddock with short grass and receives one biscuit of grass or grassy lucerne hay daily, along with a small hard feed of lucerne chaff, copra and vitamin and mineral supplements.
When in full work, she may also receive pellets such as Pryde’s Easi-Sport, Johnson’s Alfalfa Pellets or Hygain Zero. She is currently barefoot and has been for over a year due to being in lighter work, although she is shod when in full work.
Her management is entirely flexible. She can be paddocked alone, stabled part-time or happily stabled full-time in a busy environment.
Veterinary & Care: Diva has small cosmetic scars but no significant medical concerns. She is currently vaccinated for Tetanus and Strangles, with boosters due. Her dental is also due. She is maintained barefoot and up to date with farrier care.
Reason for Sale: Diva has been owned since she was a two-year-old and is very much loved. Her rider is now pursuing higher level showjumping at 120cm and above, whereas Diva is more suited to showing, dressage and showjumping under 1m.
This sale is solely to enable the purchase of a larger, higher-level showjumper.
Summary: Diva is a top-quality, beautifully bred German Riding Pony with proven State-level results. She is educated, athletic and versatile, with the talent to excel in dressage and showing and enjoy lower-level showjumping or eventing.
She is offered to a serious, knowledgeable competition home where her quality and ability will be appreciated and developed further.
