Introduction: CS Cadeau, known as Caddie, is a rising 9-year-old brown Warmblood mare by Fairbanks Catargo out of Courchevel (imp), standing approximately 16hh. Located in Forbes, NSW, she is EA Life registered and a well-educated performance mare currently competing successfully in showjumping. She is a genuine, competitive type with a solid foundation and consistent record.
Education, skills and experience: Caddie is a well-educated mare with a clear focus on showjumping and is currently competing at 115–120cm level with placings at SJA Amateur finals and agricultural shows. She also has established flatwork, including flying changes, shoulder-in, leg yield and half pass. She is well exposed to farm environments and is not concerned by tractors, trucks, motorbikes, livestock or dogs, and is quiet to ride around cattle and sheep.
General demeanour under saddle: Under saddle, Caddie is willing, responsive and balanced. She willingly collects and is tolerant of rider mistakes.
Current workload / fitness: Caddie is currently in full work and competing. She is ridden four or more times per week.
Handling: Caddie is easy to catch and straightforward to handle. She can be described as slightly pushy or ‘in your face’ in a friendly manner. She ties up calmly, loads and travels well, unloads quietly, is easy to wash and reliable for the farrier.
Behaviour: Caddie is a genuine and consistent mare with no vices. Like any performance horse, she is generally calm and reliable, although not completely unflappable. She may occasionally call out to other horses but willingly gets on with her. She may travel with her ears back, which is described as her way of focusing rather than resistance.
Feeding and management: Caddie is a good doer and is currently fed one scoop of Coprice Cool Conditioner daily along with a biscuit of lucerne hay, while living in a paddock with pasture. Her management is flexible, and she can be kept on her own, with others, or in a combination of stabling and paddock environments.
Medical history: Caddie has no medical issues or injury history, with full history known as she was bred by her current owner. She has not been x-rayed due to no clinical need and is maintained on 4Cyte as a preventative measure. A vet check is welcome at the buyer’s expense.
Rider Suitability: Caddie is best suited to a capable rider. She is a straightforward and genuine mare but like any performance horse, benefits from a confident and consistent rider.
Reason for sale: Caddie is offered for sale due to young horses coming through and the owner focusing on property improvements. She is seeking a suitable home with a rider who will appreciate her ability, look after her and continue to enjoy her in her chosen discipline.
