Introduction: A smart, eye-catching 9-year-old Thoroughbred gelding, Underboss (Bossy) is registered with SHC and EA and presents as a well-educated, versatile allrounder with proven results. He offers an attractive, polished way of going on the flat and the attitude to step into a dressage/show ring program, with the added bonus of low-level jumping experience and uncomplicated management.
Education, skills and experience: Bossy is well educated on the flat — soft and light in the bridle and willing to collect — and has been schooling low-level fences (cavalettis/x-rails). He has trail riding experience, is safe to ride near cattle and sheep, and is not bothered by busy roads, fireworks, farm activity and dogs. He is SHC and EA registered and has competed and won/placed at National level, and placed 5th overall in dressage at Equimillions 2025.
General demeanour under saddle: Bossy is willing and responsive, he offers a pleasant, rideable feel and puts in as much effort as asked by his rider. He is generally non-reactive and remains sensible unless something major happens.
Current workload / fitness: Bossy is in light work, ridden one to two times per week. He does not require daily riding to remain reliable and safe.
Handling: Bossy is straightforward on the ground — easy to catch, lead and tie. He self-loads, travels quietly, and unloads calmly. He is good to clip and wash, and reliable for the farrier and vet. Unflappable and calm in day-to-day handling.
Feeding and management: Bossy is simple and practical to manage. He can live in a herd or paddock happily on his own, he can be stabled 12 hours/paddocked 12 hours. He is maintained on simple hard feed with hay.
Medical history: Bossy was Hendra vaccinated. He last dental was January 2026. Shod. He has no known current or past medical issues reported. Vet checks are welcome at buyer’s expense.
Rider Suitability: Bossy is best matched to a confident intermediate rider who is in regular professional instruction. He would suit a capable junior, young rider, amateur or mature rider wanting a quality TB allrounder to enjoy and produce with guidance. He will benefit from continued professional training and a consistent program.
Reason for sale: Bossy's rider has moved away for work and it is not feasible to keep Bossy at home, with the family, for occasional riding.
