Introduction: Midnight Kisses, known as Lacey, is a 7-year-old black Thoroughbred mare standing approximately 16.1hh. By Kiss And Make Up out of Silent Harmony, she is EA registered and located in Westbury, Tasmania. She is a well-educated mare with established competition experience across showing and showjumping, with clear potential for a dressage, show or jumping home.
Education, skills and experience: Lacey has three expressive paces and a strong work ethic on the flat. She is established in leg yield in trot and canter, shoulder-in and counter canter. She has competed up to 95cm showjumping and is currently training around 1.05m. Her competition record is extensive. She has also been to the beach and is comfortable around livestock, dogs and busy stable environments.
General demeanour under saddle: Under saddle, Lacey is willing, responsive and puts in as much effort as required by her rider. She willingly collects and is generally non-reactive unless something significant occurs. She can occasionally feel a little strong while showjumping, although she is otherwise soft in the mouth.
Current workload / fitness: Lacey is currently in full work and is being ridden five or more times per week while actively competing. She is considered safe to hop on after a spell.
Handling: Lacey is easy to catch, well mannered on the ground and leads calmly. She loads easily onto floats and trucks, travels well and unloads quietly. She is reliable for the farrier and good for the vet.
Behaviour: Lacey is very well behaved under saddle. She is ear shy - so she does not enjoy things getting caught on her ears - please see Owner’s Response Document for full details.
Feeding and management: Lacey is currently kept in a large grass paddock. If grass is low, she has access to round bale hay when pasture is low, along with hard feed morning and night. She can be managed in a paddock or in a combination of stabling and paddock turnout, including full-time stabling.
Medical history: Lacey has no medical issues, although she does have a small scar. She was last vaccinated in June 2026 for Tetanus, Strangles, Hendra and Equine Influenza, and her dental is due in June 2026. She is currently shod. A vet check is welcome at the buyer’s expense.
Rider Suitability: Lacey is best suited to a capable rider under regular professional instruction. She would suit a junior rider, young rider or amateur adult with the experience to continue producing and managing a talented mare.
Reason for sale: Lacey is offered for sale on behalf of her owner. She presents as an appealing opportunity for someone looking for a talented and competitive horse for showing, dressage or showjumping.
