Conroy Lodge Harbour Cruise

Introduction:

Conroy Lodge Harbour Cruise, known as Cruise, is a 9yo, 16.3hh Warmblood x Thoroughbred gelding with the education and versatility to step into the ring across multiple disciplines. EA registered and actively competing, Cruise combines an established foundation with rideability and a sensible nature, making him a lovely option for an intermediate rider wanting to progress confidently through the lower levels.

Education, skills and experience:

Cruise has been produced across dressage, showjumping and eventing. He is currently competing EVA80, showjumping to 95cm and dressage at Preliminary level. He schools confidently over low-level cross-country and showjumping fences, works happily in a snaffle on the flat, and uses a universal for jumping phases. Cruise is well accustomed to day-to-day life, including lunging, and is unbothered by busy roads, farm machinery, livestock and dogs. He has qualified for National level shows, although did not compete.

General demeanour under saddle:

Cruise is generally calm, reliable and tolerant of rider mistakes, with a pleasant, relaxed way that makes him straightforward to sit on. He adapts to the rider’s confidence and competence, and willingly comes together in the contact. He can be looky in certain situations and, while not completely unflappable, remains non-reactive unless something major occurs. At home he is unfazed and easy; in competition environments he can be slightly more alert and may benefit from a short lunge to settle.

Current workload / fitness:

Cruise is currently in work and ridden three or more times per week.

Handling:

On the ground, Cruise is easy to catch, leads and ties sensibly, self-loads and travels quietly, and unloads calmly. He is well mannered for the vet and farrier and tolerant of handler errors. He is friendly and can be “in your pocket”, so a capable handler is preferred given his size. 

Feeding and management:

Cruise is maintained on hard feed with grass and lucerne hay, mixed chaff, a balancer mash and oil as required. He can live happily in a paddock on his own, cope with 12/12 stable–paddock routines, and has been comfortably stabled in busy environments. He is shod.

Medical history:

Cruise is vaccinated for Tetanus and Strangles, with vaccinations recorded in January 2026, and had dentistry completed on 22 June 2026. Vetting is welcome at the buyer’s expense, and recent X-rays are available for review. Please see Owner's Response Certificate for full information.

Rider Suitability:

Cruise is best suited to an intermediate rider in a regular coaching program who wants an educated, straightforward partner to enjoy and develop at the lower levels of eventing, dressage or showjumping. He would also suit a confident young rider or amateur rider wanting a kind, rideable horse who will step up when asked. He benefits from a capable rider at competitions to keep him focused and from a short lunge after a spell.

Reason for sale:

The owner does not expect Cruise to progress beyond 1* and has other competition horses.
