Introduction:
If you are looking for a horse with genuine presence, scope and a kind, willing attitude, Quinny is a seriously eye-catching prospect. A striking 6yo Warmblood gelding by Quintago I out of Denae, Quinny is ACE registered and stands an impressive 19hh. He is a big-framed, genuine horse with ring exposure, a lovely way of going and the exceptional temperament.
With his size, scope and showjumping focus, Quinny presents as a quality option for a confident intermediate rider, junior, young rider or amateur wanting a generous horse to learn on, enjoy and continue producing. He has the presence to turn heads, the scope to keep progressing, and the nature to make him a rewarding partner for the right home.
Education, skills and experience:
Quinny is currently competing up to 1.15m, with schooling to 1.25m. He has also had low-level cross-country schooling, been trail ridden and has experience in club environments. On the flat, he is soft in the bridle and willingly works in a collected frame, reflecting an established foundation.
Quinny offers a lovely combination of scope, size and trainability. He is not a finished schoolmaster, but he has the right foundations and ring experience to continue progressing with a capable rider who enjoys producing a quality horse through the levels.
General demeanour under saddle:
Under saddle, Quinny is willing, responsive and adaptable. He is tolerant of rider mistakes, calm and reliable, and is described as light in the contact and straightforward to ride. Like any young performance horse, he may occasionally have a look at something new, but this is handled in a calm and measured way and does not interrupt his work.
He is a generous horse who wants to do the right thing, but given his size, scope and stage of education, he is best matched to a rider with an established seat, quiet confidence and regular support.
Current workload / fitness:
Quinny is currently in work and ridden three or more times per week. After a spell, he benefits from a quick lunge before hopping on.
Handling:
On the ground, Quinny is easy to catch, lead, tie, wash and shoe, and is reliable for the farrier. He self-loads, travels quietly and unloads calmly. He has been exposed to busy environments and is not concerned by fireworks, traffic, farm machinery, livestock or dogs.
Feeding and management:
Quinny is currently on two hard feeds per day with lucerne, reflecting limited pasture at home, and he does well on a simple program. He can be stabled or paddocked in a herd or alone with other horses in sight.
Medical history:
Quinny may develop mild itch in summer if not fully rugged in summer but this is very easily managed in his current QLD home. Vet checks are welcome at the buyer’s expense.
Rider Suitability:
Quinny is best suited to a confident intermediate rider — junior, young rider or amateur — looking for a genuine, scopey Warmblood to continue developing, particularly in showjumping. He is a kind and generous type who has been competed by junior riders, but his talent and size make him better suited to a capable rider rather than a true beginner/ novice.
For the right rider, Quinny offers a lovely opportunity to secure a big, impressive, well-bred horse with current competition exposure, scope to progress and a temperament that makes him very rewarding to work with.
Reason for sale:
Quinny's owner produce's young horses as part of her business. He is quiet, established and ready to progress with a new owner.
