Introduction:
Foxground Kahtia is a superstar 12-year-old Warmblood mare with current results at 90–105cm and a very comprehensive record at Interschools and open shows. At 14.2hh, she is a quality, forward, fun showjumper with fabulous flatwork education, making her a smart choice for a confident child or junior, or a capable amateur wanting a competitive, rideable and willing mare.
Kahtia was purchased for her current rider when the rider was a capable 10-year-old. She has been lovingly owned by the same family for the last four years and has been an absolutely crucial part of her rider's progression. Kahtia has now sadly been outgrown and is being offered for sale to another young, up-and-coming rider who will be very lucky to have such a competitive mare in their stable.
Education, skills and experience:
Kahtia is actively competing at 90–105cm with wins and placings and has competed at national-level shows. She is described as well educated, with a superior level of schooling, and is beautiful on the flat. Outside the arena, she has been trail ridden and ridden bareback, and is unbothered by busy environments.
General demeanour under saddle:
Under saddle, Kahtia is forward and sharp in a positive, rideable way. She is willing and responsive, with her own engine. Kahtia is lovely on the flat and willingly collects. She is a force to be reckoned with in the show ring or dressage arena. Like any performance horse, she is generally non-reactive unless something major happens. She is tolerant of rider mistakes and is adjustable, but she is a performance horse — keen and competitive.
Current workload / fitness:
Kahtia is in work, ridden three or more times per week, and is currently competing.
Handling:
On the ground, Kahtia is easy to catch, ties up calmly, leads willingly, is good to wash and clip, and is reliable for the farrier and vet. She is tolerant of handler mistakes and can be a friendly, in-your-pocket type. She is happily stabled 24 hours a day in a busy environment, fine with dogs and other pets, and not worried by busy roads or fireworks.
Feeding and management:
Kahtia is currently on hard feed and hay morning and night. She manages well stabled or in a paddock on her own, even when kept completely on her own with no other horses on the property. She is shod in front and is well behaved for the farrier.
Medical history:
No past or present medical issues have been declared. Her last dental was at the start of this year. Pre-purchase vet checks are welcome at the buyer's expense.
Rider Suitability:
Kahtia will suit a confident, capable child or junior rider who loves jumping and appreciates a forward-moving horse. She would also suit a competent amateur who enjoys a horse with its own engine. She is very competitive at 90–105cm level. As a competitive performance horse, she is not suited to nervous or beginner riders.
Reason for sale:
Kahtia is very sadly for sale as the family has purchased a larger horse to take her rider up the grades, and the rider does not have time to keep two horses in work long term.
