Introduction: Addie is the quintessential competitive allrounder pony. She was purchased by her current family almost two years ago and has ‘been there and done that’ for her last two families. Prior to that she was owned by a riding school. Addie is a willing, safe and educated pony for a confident and capable child or smaller adult.
Education, riding and experience: Addie is well campaigned, loves showjumping, trail riding, pony club and is unphased by life on the farm.
Flat work/ dressage: Addie requires a kind, balanced rider with soft hands. She is fabulous on the flat, responsive, willing and well educated.
Jumping: Addie has jumped up to 60cm and is both careful and brave.
Experiences or other skills: Addie is used to competitions, pony club, interschools, busy stables and farm life - trucks, tractors and livestock.
General demeanor under saddle and behaviour: Addie is reliable and trustworthy. With a confident child or adult rider, she is generally relaxed. Addie can, however, spook. This may unseat and upset an unbalanced or nervous rider. In saying that, this may be a magnesium deficiency issue due to the soil type where she lives.
After a long spell, Addie can be a bit fresh. She benefits from a quick lunge, before her first ride back, but is completely safe without this.
Current workload/ fitness: Addie is currently in light work and is completely fine without being worked a lot or regularly.
Handling: Addie requires minimal maintenance and boasts a lovely temperament, making her a joy to travel with. She always eats and drinks when away.
Addie is very straight forward to catch, handle, wash, float, groom, saddle and for the farrier and vet.
Feeding and management: No special feeding requirements. Addie is currently fed teff hay only. She is barefoot. Addie is paddocked with two other ponies.
Medical: No medical issues. Addie will be up to date with dental and vaccinations prior to sale.
Rider Suitability: For the last year, she has been handled and ridden by the same novice child. Addie has been very safe, willing and tolerant. Unfortunately, her rider is very tense and nervous, which has contributed to Addie spooking.
Reason for sale: Addie is a willing and personality plus pony! She is perfectly safe for her novice rider but would best suit a confident child or small adult. Addie loves her kids and is a very competitive pony that can teach a capable child how to succeed across multiple disciplines.
