Introduction: Springvale Stalymag is an absolutely cracking schoolmaster 130-145 horse. He was started and has been owned by the same family since he was 6 years old. By the grand prix showjumper, Stalypso, out of an exceptional eventing mare, Sticky has his own engine, is brave and honest. He presents a wonderful opportunity for a buyer to purchase a sound, sane and rideable horse which is succeeding at the top levels of the sport.
Conformation: Sticky is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - compact, athletic and refined. His paces display elasticity, power and activity suitable to progress up the levels.
Education, riding and experience: Sticky is well educated on the flat. He has automatic flying changes and laterals, making him rideable, adjustable and competitive on course.
Sticky is currently competing up to 145 level with an experienced junior rider, he has numerous placings at Junior and Young Rider level as well as recently representing Australia as part of the Trans-Tasman competition at the Tamworth World Cup Show 2025. He is willing and responsive as well as very competitive against the clock. Sticky is exceedingly brave, honest and careful around the course and totally trustworthy too.
Sticky is an absolute stable favourite and is loved by everyone he meets. He is a true family horse, having been produced by his rider’s mother, before becoming a junior’s horse. He is tolerant of rider mistakes, well educated and always aiming to please.
Sticky can be horse shy in busy warm ups and can jig jog and spook - sharp suck sideways and spin - going from truck to ring but once the buzzer goes, he knows his job! The rider just needs to sit there and remember which jump comes next. Sticky is forward and gives an immense sense of confidence, as his rider knows he is going to leave the ground every single time.
Sticky is currently in work and competing.
Handling: Sticky is patient and well mannered on the ground to rug, wash, shoe etc.He is very easy to travel in float or truck. Sticky is straightforward to catch and handle by juniors. He stands quietly for the farrier and vet or to be clipped. At a show, with a junior rider, it may be worth leading him with a rope halter or chain but his owners have never needed this.
Behaviour: Sticky has traveled all over QLD, NSW and Victoria. He is happy in big city show environments as well as being stabled in basic ag show situations with fireworks every night. He travels well - loads and unloads without fuss and eats and drinks well when away from home.
Sticky does not have any vices and is not at all ‘matey’ when at a show on his own. Sticky enjoys socialising with people and other horses and is fun to have around and if his mates are competing with him, he likes someone to chat to at the truck or stables - he won’t misbehave on his own but may eat less of his hard feed!
Feeding and management: Sticky does not have any special feeding or management requirements. Sticky is happy to be stabled, yarded or paddocked on his own or in a herd situation at home. He is easy care and zero fuss!
Medical history: Sticky does not have any medical issues. He is injury free and issue free. Sticky has been owned by the same family since he was six. He has never been ‘vetted’, xrayed or had a lame day in his life. Sticky is given 4cyte as a preventative only.
Rider Suitability: Sticky would suit a capable, confident and competitive junior or adult rider who is looking for a straightforward and competitive horse to teach them as they go up the show jumping levels. He would also suit an experienced rider to compete in Grand Prix classes.
Reason for sale: Sticky is for sale due to young horses coming through. His owner knows that he has an incredible amount to offer his next rider.
