Corey is an absolutely stunning warmblood x gelding bred. He is by BJ Kaneto Casanova out of Miss Melody, who is by Richmead Medallion - who certainly stamps his offspring and theirs with his distinctive stamp! Corey has been an absolute superstar eventer to EVA95/1* level and is now winning at elementary level dressage.
Conformation: Corey is a classic example of a modern warmblood - he is built ‘uphill’ and is the picture of strength, balance and symmetry.
Education and experience: Corey started his career as an eventer and was a point and shoot jumper to 1* level. He was sold in early 2025 to a dressage home, for no reason other than his breeders liked the ‘home’ and rider.
Corey is the ultimate established and straightforward elementary dressage horse - with many official points. He scored over 67% at two out of his last three starts. He has been training medium and, with clean flying changes coming through, he is ready for his first start at this level.
Corey is a well performed young horse. He has competed at every major venue in Queensland, remaining safe at all times. He is rideable and trainable with established lateral work, consistent medium paces, and his ability to collect in the canter is a highlight.
Corey is the same at home, as he is at competitions, whether outdoors or indoors. He is generally relaxed on trail rides and he enjoyed his jumping. Corey also has the looks, conformation and presence to be a fabulous show horse!
General demeanour under saddle: Corey is responsive and willing. He is ridden in a snaffle at all times. Corey is light and easy to collect. He is tolerant of rider mistakes and is straightforward enough for confident and capable amateur or young riders to enjoy and compete.
Corey is a horse that never needs lunging or working down. He is super safe and reliable in any situation.
Current workload/ fitness: Corey is in work 2-3 times a week. He does not need to be ridden regularly to be safe and his behaviour is not affected by a spell.
Handling: Corey is very well mannered on the ground. He is easy to catch, lead and handle - for farrier, picking out feet, grooming and washing. Corey loads into float and truck very easily, stands quietly when travelling and unloads calmly. He is easy and calm to trim with electric clippers. Corey’s only quirk is pinning his ears back, if he is eating and someone wants to do up his front rug strap.
Behaviour: Corey is 100% safe - he does not buck, pigroot, bolt or rear. He is very calm, quiet and reliable. Corey is not concerned by farm life - tractors, trucks, motorbikes, livestock, dogs or other pets. He is not spooky or matey - he is a confident, independent horse.
Feeding and management: Corey is not fed any special feed, supplement or any medication. He has a simple hard feed one a day and is in a grassy paddock.
Medical history: Corey is 100% sound and without issues, his breeders welcomes any vet check, xrays, scans and blood tests. He had a full vet check and complete set of clean xrays including back and neck, when purchased in early 2025. These can be shared with interested parties.
Rider Suitability: Capable Rider defined as someone who has been riding / competing regularly for at least five years, has independent hands and balanced position/ seat; can walk, trot and canter on multiple horses both young and educated. Is confident in all situations. Can handle some quirks in horses.
Ideal home: would be with a competent young rider or amateur adult rider who wants a horse competitive and straightforward dressage horse, eventer or allrounder.
Please note that the owner doesn’t jump and won’t for a viewing but a potential viewer is welcome to do so.
Reason for sale: Corey’s owner adores him but is opening a new saddleworld, has young children and needs to concentrate on a higher level dressage horse.
If you are looking for a stunning new best friend - a loving, kind and smoochy horse who is also willing, straight forward to ride - then Corey is the one for you!
