Introduction: Devil’s Choice (Bridget) is the ultimate showjumping unicorn. She is one-in-a-million with the sweetest and kindest temperament. Bridget’s aim in life is to please her person and she is an absolute delight in all ways.
Education, riding and experience: Bridget has been absolutely amazing in her current and previous home. She has been a wonderful schoolmaster for her riders. Bridget is a keen, careful, brave and safe jumper. She has competed successfully with a junior and has proven herself to be extremely easy, honest and reliable up to 105 level. Bridget has never been concerned with fill and can turn on a dime in a jump off. She is a ribbon machine and often wins all her rounds at a competition!
In the last few years, Bridget and her rider’s focus has been showjumping but she has school over cross country jumps and ‘turned her hoof’ to a variety of disciplines. She has spent time in the show ring and is lovely to ride on the flat. Bridget always comes home ‘in the ribbons’! She is also quick on her feet and would even excel at sporting and barrel racing.
General demeanor under saddle: Bridget is willing and responsive under saddle. She has a snaffle mouth. Bridget is balanced, reliable and fun to ride. She can be competed, ridden bareback and ridden on trails without issues. Bridget has a wonderful temperament and is the same at home as she is at competitions.
Current workload/ fitness: Bridget is currently in light work as her rider is back at boarding school.
Handling: Bridget is safe and easy to handle - to catch, shoe, wash, saddle and float. She is easy for the vet and is a favourite with the farrier.
Behaviour: Bridget is very affectionate and is an absolute pleasure to have around. To ride, she is willing and responsive.
Bridget does not have any dirt, quirks or vices - however, if the rider is tense and anxious, she may be tense. Bridget won’t do anything dramatic but she may be ‘alert’.
Bridget does not need regular work to be safe. She is safe after a spell.
Feeding and management: Bridget is not your typical thoroughbred and is an extremely good doer. She is currently fed hay and when in work, is fed half a dipper of Hygain Zero.
Medical history: Bridget does not have any medical issues.
Rider Suitability: Bridget suit a ‘Capable Rider’ defined as someone who has been riding / competing regularly for at least five years, has independent hands and balanced position/ seat; can walk, trot and canter on multiple horses both young and educated. Is confident in all situations. Can handle some quirks in horses.
Bridget is NOT suitable for a beginner or novice as she is willing and responsive. She is ridden by a capable 12 year old boy and 15 year old girl, who have had an absolute ball with her.
Reason for sale: Bridget is very reluctantly for sale because her owner is at boarding school and other sports are taking precedence.
