Introduction: ‘Annabelle’ is a talented warmblood mare who is ready to find her next partner. She is the ultimate competitive 1* eventer with too many placings to list. Annabelle loves her jumping and will bring her rider home safely, every single time!
Education, skills and experience:
Annabelle’s owner has brought her on, slowly and correctly, over the last 4 years. She has competed in 1* eventing, 1.10 showjumping and elementary level dressage. Annabelle is capable and ready to step up a level and has all the skills to do this successfully.
Annabelle has been extensively campaigned in EA and HRCAV events. She has participated in numerous clinics and lessons and doesn’t get phased in new surroundings.
Dressage
Annabelle is well established in dressage with three even paces, consistently producing calm and accurate tests. She has a comprehensive dressage education to elementary level and has the ability to progress up the levels. Annabelle willingly collects, is balanced, light and soft to ride. In eventing dressage, Annabelle is always a stand out, consistently scoring under 30 penalties (usually sits in the mid twenties) and up to 75%.
Showjumping
Annabelle is responsive and adjustable, competitive against the clock. She is trustworthy around the course and doesn’t stop, giving her rider the ultimate confidence. Annabelle has successfully competed up to 110cm and trained to 120cm. In showjumping she is careful and scopey.
Cross Country
On cross country, Annabelle is bold and honest. She is ready to go 2* with the right rider and she is training, at that height, with ease. Annabelle absolutely loves jumping, and is a ‘point and shoot’ cross country horse. She is very clever and quick with her feet, will jump nearly anything off any angle and any stride. She is happy to travel at any pace and does not pull or lay in the rider's hands. Annabelle can always be trusted to bring her rider home safely.
General demeanor under saddle:
Annabelle is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse being compact, athletic and refined. Her paces display elasticity and activity suitable to progress up the levels.
Annabelle is honest and aims to please. She is generally very quiet but is not completely unflappable to ride. Annabelle may react to rider nerves by becoming looky or a little horse shy in overcrowded enclosed warm up areas. However, she has never bucked, pigrooted, reared, bolted etc.
Annabelle is easy to take off the property, and works well in a group or on her own. She requires no extensive warm up or cool downs, and is exactly the same after a break. Annabelle is ridden on the flat in a loose ring snaffle and a universal bit for jumping.
Annabelle is not concerned by farm life - tractors, livestock and trucks. She doesn’t mind dogs or motorbikes. Annabelle is unphased by the nonsense of a busy agistment environment.
Current workload/ fitness: Annabelle is in work 4 days a week.
Handling and general behaviour: Annabelle is ‘non horsey family member’ safe and easy to manage - straight forward to catch and handle - lead, rug, tack up, wash, shoe, clip etc. She is great to load, travel and unload. Annabelle is happy at overnight shows and to be stabled.
Feeding and management: Annabelle loves her food and is a good doer. She is fed Mitavite Munga and oaten chaff.
Medical history: Annabelle has two small scars on her legs which do not affect her performance. She has had two episodes of tying up - both related to the feeding of lucerne - she has not been fed that since and has not had any issues.
Rider Suitability: Capable and confident - Annabelle will be perfect for a teen or adult looking for a competitive partner. She is looking for a kind and confident rider. She is not overreactive and does not get offended if the rider makes a mistake. Annabelle has the trainability, ability & temperament to go up the grades in any discipline.
Reason for sale: Annabelle is an absolute delight! She has been owned and trained by her current rider since she began her eventing career and is dearly loved. Unfortunately, she is for sale due to her rider taking a break with health issues.
