Lucky Nutts

Introduction: Lucky is a beautiful large New Forest gelding. He is a super competitive and fun showjumper for a keen novice rider. Lucky has won and placed at State level to EVA80 level and is ready to teach his next young rider!

Education, skills and experience: Lucky is experienced to 90cm showjumping. At 80cm and below, he is point and shoot - fun, forgiving and responsive. Over 80cm, he loves his job but needs a rider who can see a distance and support him. Regardless of the height, Lucky lives for the jump-off – agile, clever, and quick on his feet. 

Lucky has competed - with ease - EVA80 with his previous rider. His current rider has jumped him over 60-70 cross country jumps but she doesn’t event.

While jumping is his clear passion, Lucky can put together a neat, correct dressage test when needed – he has proven himself in combined training and preliminary level dressage.

General demeanor under saddle: Lucky is a willing and responsive pony. This is what makes him a competitive performance pony. Lucky loves his job!

Lucky collects easily for a rider with an independent seat and understanding of contact. He is light and happy in a snaffle at all times, in all disciplines.

Lucky is not spooky and has no vices. He is great on trails and roads. He attends pony club. Lucky is familiar with dogs and kids. He is tolerant and safe in all situations. 

Current workload/ fitness: Lucky is ridden 1-2 plus days a week and is perfectly safe to hop straight on, after a spell. 

Handling and behaviour: Lucky is easy to catch, handle, saddle, wash and float. He is patient, kind and reliable.

Feeding and management: Lucky is fed hay only at the moment. He is fed an appropriate hard feed when in regular work. He is an easy doer. Lucky can be stabled or paddocked. Lucky is a pleasure to take to shows, travels well, eats and drinks happily. 

Medical history: Lucky doesn’t have any medical concerns but due to his age, he may benefit from 4cyte or pentosan. 

Rider Suitability: Lucky is a super fun, competitive pony with loads of personality and ability. Not for a beginner but very reliable for a novice rider.

Reason for sale: Lucky is very sadly for sale due to being outgrown and her owner’s moving. He is a valuable part of his family and will only be sold to the right home and rider.
