Mali is a truly talented and lovely young horse. She is bred to excel in dressage with the bloodlines, conformation and talent to make it at the top level. Mali was assessed as Elite and also presents an opportunity to breed outstanding smaller dressage horses.
Bloodlines: Mali is sired by Bluefields Dankeschoen is by Desperados FRH out of Florencio/Pik Noir/Top of Class. Blessed with talent, trainability, temperament and excellent work ethic. Bluefields Dankeschoen was the Winner of both 5yo and 6yo Sydney CDI*** Young Horse Championship with a word class score of 9.31.
Dankeschoen is a foal and riding horse producer par excellence siring:
2022 ACE Australian-Champion colt
2022 ACE Australian-Supreme Champion filly
2023 ACE Assessment tour 4 Champion foals in 3 States
2023 5yo DWTS Champion
2024 ACE Tour - 2 Champion foals and best producing Stallion over all for movements.
Mali is out of KP Jordan who is by Jazz. KP Jordan is a producer of fabulous dressage horses including CJP Zikonik and Dankeshoen MBE. Jazz was a second generation Grand Prix dressage horse, following in his father, Cocktail’s footsteps.
In 2001 Tineke Bartels debuted Jazz at Grand Prix. That year they won the ‘Grand Prix World Cup in Amsterdam’ with a score of 74.65%. In 2002 at ‘Zwollse Paardendagen’ he achieved third place in the category of ‘Best Stallion’. In addition Jazz was Indoor Champion at NBVR and competed in the 2002 Olympic Games in Jerez, Spain. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 Jazz was the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses' Leading Dressage Sire of the World.
Conformation: Mali has been allowed to mature slowly and, as such, will be sound throughout her competition career. She is a modern, compact and athletic warmblood, just like her parents. Mali’s conformation has enabled her to take to ‘life under saddle’ with willingness and acceptance.
Education, riding and experience: Mali was beautifully started and has an excellent foundation. She is training Novice and touching on the elementary work. She works softly, is light in the bridle and shows a natural ability and willingness to collect. Mali is willing, forward thinking and responsive. She has three quality, uphill paces.
Mali is described as a ‘very sweet mare’ who is ‘sharp and sensitive but also sensible’. With per previous owner, she attended dressage clinics and competitions at all the major venues in Sydney - scoring up to 70%. With her current owner, she has been to multiple different locations and indoor venues for clinics without any issues. Mali wants to work and loves to be with people.
Current workload/ fitness: Mali is not currently in work due to her owner’s personal circumstances. After a spell, she benefits from a lunge, before riding. Mali is a horse that is safe regardless of the level of work but being sensitive, thrives on routine and being in work.
Handling: Mali is a pleasure to handle. She is easy to catch, groom, saddle, wash, float and for the farrier.
Behaviour: Mali is vice free under saddle and on the ground. She is, however, a sensitive and forward thinking horse. When Mali had ulcers, she did jack up. Once treated, she was fine and has not displayed this behaviour since. We do believe, however, that if confused or ridden poorly/ with restrictive contact, Mali may develop issues fairly quickly.
Feeding and management: Mali does not require any specific feeding or management.
Medical history: Mali does not have any current medical issues. She has had ulcers in the past and would benefit from an ulcer supplement. Mali has a full set of clean X-rays from 2024.
Rider Suitability: Mali requires a competent, capable and confident rider due to her age and level of education. She is sensible enough for a soft, balanced teenager or amateur to bring on under supervision.
Reason for sale: Mali is for sale due to personal circumstances.
With Mali’s intelligence, talent, and willingness to please, she is perfect for someone looking to bring on a lovely young horse.
