Introduction: Ronnie is an absolute delight to ride, handle and compete. He was started by a professional and has ridden on and off by amateur riders his whole life. He has excelled and progressed beautifully - competing successfully to 120 level with amateur riders. He presents a wonderful opportunity for a buyer to purchase a sound, sane and rideable horse which is very much ‘schoolmaster safe’.
Conformation: Ronnie is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - compact, athletic and refined. His paces display elasticity, power and activity suitable to succeed.
Education, riding and experience: Ronnie is very well educated on the flat. He has automatic flying changes and laterals, making him rideable and adjustable on course and a potential stand out as a straight dressage horse.
Ronnie is willing and responsive as well as very competitive against the clock. He is exceedingly brave, honest and careful around the course and totally trustworthy too. Ronnie is very tolerant of a miss up to 120 level.
Ronnie is an absolute stable favourite and is loved by everyone he meets. He is tolerant of rider mistakes, well educated and always aims to please. Ronnie is the type of horse you ‘can put your grandma on for a trail ride!’ He is an all round lovely horse with an outstanding temperament. Ronnie is laid back under saddle, willing but not at all hot or forward.
Ronnie is currently not in work due to rider’s lack of time and is priced accordingly. However, he is perfectly safe to hop on after a spell and can be ridden by potential viewers.
Handling: Ronnie is patient and well mannered on the ground to handle, rug, wash, saddleetc. He is very easy to travel in float or truck. Ronnie can be a bit of a clown to catch but gives in easily. He is well mannered for the vet but is a little needle phobic. He stands quietly and patiently for the farrier.
Behaviour: Ronnie has traveled all over NSW, SA and VIC. He is happy in big city show environments as well as being stabled in basic ag show situations with fireworks every night. He travels well - loads and unloads without fuss and eats and drinks well when away from home.
Ronnie does not have any vices and is not at all ‘matey’. He can occasionally have a look at something but is very safe and doesn’t spook. He enjoys socialising with people and other horses and is fun to have around!
Feeding and management: Ronnie does not have any special feeding or management requirements. Ronnie is happy to be stabled, yarded or paddocked on his own or in a herd situation but he can be bossy at feed time. He is a good doer, easy care and zero fuss!
Medical history: Ronnie does not have any known medical issues other than very mild stifle lock ONLY when out of work - this does not at all affect him or his performance but he is priced accordingly. He is injury free and issue free.
Rider Suitability: Ronnie would suit a confident novice junior through to a competitive rider who is looking for a straightforward and competitive horse to teach them as they go up the show jumping levels.
Reason for sale: Ronnie is for sale as his rider is no longer riding due to uni and work. His owners know that he has an incredible amount to offer his next rider and is simply wasted in the paddock. He deserves a home where he is treated like a king!
