First in Rider and Most Educated Pony
Introduction: Lily is the quintessential competitive allrounder pony. She was purchased by her current family almost two years ago and has ‘been there and done that’ for her family. Lily is a willing, safe and educated pony for a confident and capable child or smaller adult.
Education, riding and experience: Lily is well campaigned, loves showjumping, is confident on trails, enjoys pony club and is unphased by life on the farm.
Flat work/ dressage: Lily requires a kind, balanced rider with soft hands. She is fabulous on the flat, responsive, willing and well educated. Lily is currently ridden by a confident 10-year old and is beginning to work in a frame at walk, trot, and canter for her young rider.
Jumping: Lily has jumped up to 80cm and is both careful and brave. She is confident on trails, good with water, ditches, drops/banks, and is competitive and confident around 50–60cm.
General demeanor under saddle and behaviour: Lily is reliable and trustworthy. With a confident, kind child or small adult rider, she is relaxed. However, if the rider is tense, Lily can become tense and rush.
Lily’s rider can stand on her back, crawl underneath her, slide off her rump and ride her bareback - even in a halter when jumping! Lily can be safely ridden indoors, led off another horse, or can lead another. She has also been ridden on beach and in dams.
After a long spell, Lily can be a bit fresh. She benefits from a quick lunge, before her first ride back so she is relaxed for the first ride back. Lily may benefit from the use of a kimblewick on cross country but is currently ridden in a snaffle for all phases. She enjoys her friends and may call out to them at a competition, if they are particularly attached.
Current workload/ fitness: Lily is currently in work 4-5 days a week - she does best with this consistency and routine.
Handling: Lily requires minimal maintenance and boasts a lovely temperament, making her a joy to travel with. She always eats and drinks when away.
Lily is very straight forward to catch, handle, wash, float, groom, saddle and for the farrier and vet. Her current owner has been handling her independently, with adult supervision, since the age of 8 and is now 10 years old.
Feeding and management: No special feeding requirements. Lily is currently fed hay and speedibeet. She is a good doer and does best when grass is restricted. Lily is barefoot. She is paddocked with other ponies.
Medical: No medical issues.
Rider Suitability: For the last two years, she has been handled and ridden by the same novice child. Lily has been very safe, willing and tolerant. She is best suited to a capable child with a good seat and hands. Lily is for sale as she has taught her rider so well, that she is now jumping much higher on a galloway and is ready for regular higher-level competition.
Reason for sale: Lily is a willing and personality plus pony! She is perfectly safe for her novice rider. Lily loves her kids and is a very competitive pony that can teach a confident child how to succeed across multiple disciplines.
