First in Rider and Most Educated Pony
Introduction: Lily is the quintessential competitive allrounder pony. She was purchased by her current family almost two years ago and has ‘been there and done that’ for her family. Lily is a willing, safe and educated pony.
Education, riding and experience: Lily is well campaigned, loves showjumping, is confident on trails, enjoys pony club and is unphased by life on the farm.
Flat work/ dressage: Lily is fabulous on the flat, responsive, willing and well educated. Lily works in a nice frame at walk, trot, and canter for her young rider.
Jumping: Lily has jumped up to 80cm and is both careful and brave. She is confident on trails, good with water, ditches, drops/banks, and is competitive when jumping 50–60cm.
General demeanor under saddle and behaviour: Lily is reliable and trustworthy. Lily’s rider can stand on her back, crawl underneath her, slide off her rump and ride her bareback - even in a halter when jumping! Lily can be safely ridden indoors, led off another horse, or can lead another. She has also been ridden on beach and in dams. Lily is currently ridden in a snaffle for all phases.
After a long spell, Lily benefits from a quick lunge before riding. She may call out occasionally to a friend, at a competition, but willingly gets on with her job.
Current workload/ fitness: Lily is currently in work 4-5 days a week - she does best with this consistency and routine.
Handling: Lily requires minimal maintenance and boasts a lovely temperament, making her a joy to travel with. She always eats and drinks when away.
Lily is very straight forward to catch, handle, wash, float, groom, saddle and for the farrier and vet. Her current owner has been handling her independently, since the age of 8 years old.
Feeding and management: No special feeding requirements. Lily is currently fed hay and speedibeet. She is a good doer. Lily is barefoot. She is paddocked with other ponies.
Medical: No medical issues.
Rider Suitability: For the last two years, she has been handled and ridden by the same novice child. Lily has been very safe, willing and tolerant. With a calm, kind child or small adult rider, she is relaxed. However, if the rider is very tense or agitated, Lily can become tense and rush.
Reason for sale: Lily loves her kids and is a very competitive pony that can teach a child across multiple disciplines. Lily is for sale as she has taught her rider so well, that she is now jumping much higher and has moved onto a bigger horse.
