Milo is an accomplished gelding who is established to 90cm showjumping and has a bright future in any of the olympic disciplines!. He was bred and broken in by his current owner and competed by various members of the family. Milo is uncomplicated, unflappable, has delightful manners and a willing work ethic. He presents a wonderful opportunity for someone to purchase a safe, established and unspoilt young horse!
Education and experience: Milo is soft and light in the bridle and willingly collects. He has three balanced paces and athletic movement. Milo loves jumping and he is honest and brave. He is tolerant of the occassional miss - he says ‘hold my beer’ and ‘keeps on trucking’! Due to his age, Milo is currently competing successfully at 80-90cm.
Milo has attended a variety of competitions at large venues and agricultural shows. He is the same horse out, as he is at home. Milo is relaxed on trail rides and is the same at home, as he is at competitions.
General demeanour under saddle: Milo is responsive and willing. He is ridden in a snaffle and is light and easy to collect. Milo is tolerant of rider mistakes, kind and straightforward to ride. When tired, he may get a little heavier in the bridle, like any young horse.
Current workload/ fitness: Milo is in irregular work 1-2 times a week due to an overabundance of horses and lack of riders (hence him being listed for sale!) He does not need to be ridden regularly to be safe and his behaviour is not affected by a spell.
Handling: Milo is very well mannered on the ground. He is easy to catch, lead and handle - for farrier, picking out feet, grooming, clipping and washing. Milo loads easily,, stands quietly when travelling and unloads calmly.
Behaviour: Milo is a reliable and safe young horse - he does not buck, pigroot, bolt or rear. He is very calm, quiet and reliable. Milo is not concerned by dogs or other pets. He is non-reactive unless something major happens but he is still safe even in that situation, he moves on calmly and straight away. He is a very calm and settled young bloke!
Feeding and management: Milo currently hard fed once a day and given hay twice a day.
Medical history: Milo is 100% sound and without issues that affect performance, his owner welcomes any vet check, xrays, scans and blood tests.
Rider Suitability: Milo is a young warmblood but is safe and sensible for his breeder/ owner and her family. He will adjust to his rider, doing as little or as much as he is asked. Milo is willing, without being forward. He is straightforward enough to be ridden by novice riders, with a knowledgeable support system, and competed by intermediate riders.
Ideal home: would be a rider who wants to enjoy and love a straightforward and well educated young horse, that they can continue educating and taking up the levels in any of the olympic disciplines . He is a delight and deserves to be spoiled and loved!
Reason for sale: Milo’s owner has far too many horses and not enough riders.
If you are looking for a stunning new best friend - a loving, kind and smoochy horse who is also willing, straight forward to ride - then Milo is the one for you!
