Coruba GNZ/ Carly was bred by the Goldengrove Stud in New Zealand then broken in and educated by her current young rider. Carly has progressed beautifully into a well educated and talented young horse - an absolute delight to ride, handle and compete. With her rider attending university and with other young horses coming through, this sale presents a wonderful opportunity for a buyer to purchase a young, sound, sane and rideable horse which will succeed at the top levels of the sport.
Bloodlines: Carly was undoubtedly bred in the purple - sired by Eurocommerce Pennsylvania (otherwise known as Grand Pilot I). Pennsylvania is a stallion with a performance history that will outlast this generation! He is proving to be a pre-potent sire of performance horses and breeding stock. While his intensive competition career left him with limited progeny before arriving in New Zealand - the progeny that he did leave are showing incredible form from 1* to 5* - Amateur through to professional!
Carly is out of Brie - a mare by Lansing - fully approved and licensed with the Holsteiner Verband, Oldenburg Verband and KWPN. An international Grand Prix showjumper in his own right, winning the German National Showjumping Championships. Lansing was a beautiful grey stallion of very correct type with good movement and extraordinary jumping capacity with the ability to leave these qualities in his offspring. His daughters are particularly sought after and his contribution to New Zealand ShowJumping is nothing short of phenomenal. Lansing is the sire of many international jumpers including Katie Laurie’s Casbrooke Lomond.
Education, riding and experience: Carly shows all the class of her pedigree — careful, athletic, and extremely clean over a fence, with a naturally correct technique and scope to go up the grades.
Carly is very much established at 115 height and had her first 115-120 6 year old start last weekend - which she won!. She has already proven her quality jumping clean, confident rounds and giving a great feel every time.
Carly is well established on the flat. She has automatic flying changes and laterals, making her a pleasure to ride, adjustable and competitive on course. Carly is a very forgiving and straightforward ride.
Carly is an absolute favourite with everyone she meets. Her natural kind temperament has made her tolerant of rider mistakes and she always aims to please.
Carly is currently in work and competing.
Handling: Carly is sensible, sweet natured and easy to handle. She is patient and well mannered on the ground to rug, wash, shoe etc. Carly is very easy to travel in either a float or truck and self loads onto the float.
Behaviour: Carly is well traveled and happy in big city show environments as well as being stabled in basic show situations. She travels well - loads and unloads without fuss and eats and drinks well when away from home.
Carly is sensible and reliable to ride and handle. She does not have any vices. Carly can get a little overwhelmed in a very busy warm up but is 100% safe and is fine when kept busy.
Feeding and management: Carly does not have any special feeding or management requirements. Carly is happy to be stabled, yarded or paddocked on her own or in a herd situation.
Medical history: Carly does not have any medical issues. She is injury free and issue free. Her owners welcome any vet check.
Rider Suitability: Carly combines the best of modern European bloodlines with the rideability and temperament sought by both competitive junior or adult riders - who are looking for a straightforward and competitive horse to move up the showjumping levels. She would also suit a professional to bring on through Futurity level, with the aim to compete in World Cup qualifiers in the future.
Reason for sale: Carly is for sale due to other young horses coming through.
