Vera is an absolute superstar competing and established at elementary level and across show horse events. She is a stunning, beautifully moving horse that is also completely safe and trustworthy. Vera has been owned and produced by her amateur owner since the age of 2 and this is a very sad sale due to a young horse coming through. These safe and sound schoolmaster horses are few and far between - especially in this 16hh prized package!
Breeding: Vera’s sire Versace is an exceptional stallion, who combines the very best of Dutch breeding. He was presented at the 2013 Oldenburger Saddle Licensing, where he was awarded Premium and then became Licensing Reserve Champion, with the test rider scoring him 9.5 for Rideability.
Versace is a modern, elegant stallion with super conformation. He is very uphill, with three outstanding gaits and displays this super movement both at liberty and under saddle. Versace has an exceptional character, with a very willing and happy attitude towards work. Versace’s pedigree carries the most incredible credentials, in terms of highly successful Grand Prix stallions, and producers of top level competition horses.
His foals have top class characters, superb conformation, expressive and correct movement. They are absolutely stunning in appearance, very eye catching. They are friendly, confident and clever.
Vera’s dam, Belcam Gala has outstanding jumping and eventing breeding including Grannus II, Contact and Cor de Le Bryere. All horses showing outstanding character, talent and trainability.
Conformation: Vera is a classic example of a modern dressage horse - she is built ‘uphill’ and is the picture of strength, balance and symmetry.
Education and experience: Vera is the ultimate dressage horse - with results of up to 68% at Elementary! She has competed at major venues, remaining reliable and confident at all times and winning numerous titles. Vera has also competed successfully as a show horse and is the most wonderful rider class mount for any rider, including juniors!
Vera has all the ‘tricks’! Her ride-ability is unmatched with easy lateral work, consistent paces, and training flying changes. She is naturally uphill and light in the bridle, working in an easy and consistent contact at all times.
Vera is the same at home, as she is at competitions, whether outdoors or indoors. She is very calm and reliable having been produced by an adult amateur, as well as competed by juniors. Vera has benefited from exposure to life outside of ‘being a dressage horse’, trail riding, doing low level jumps, and attending shows. She has been given time to mature and develop at an appropriate and healthy pace.
Vera likes do a variety of work, is safe on the trail and being ridden bareback. Vera is not concerned by busy roads or farm life - tractors, trucks, motorbikes, livestock, dogs or other pets.
General demeanour under saddle: Vera is responsive and willing. She is soft and 'light' in the bridle and willingly 'collects'. Vera works with a consistent contact in both a snaffle and double bridle. She is tolerant of rider mistakes and is straightforward enough for capable and confident amateur or young riders to enjoy and compete.
Current workload/ fitness: Vera is in work 5 times a week and is competing. She does not need to be ridden regularly to be safe and her behaviour is not affected by a spell. Vera does not require lunging or working down after a spell or at a competition.
General behaviour and handling: Vera is a pleasure in every way - super safe, reliable and is well mannered on the ground as well as under saddle. She is safe for junior and even child handlers. Vera is easy to catch, lead and handle - for farrier, picking out feet, grooming and washing. Vera loads into float and truck very easily, stands quietly when travelling and unloads calmly. She is easy and calm to clip.
Behaviour: Vera is a confidence builder and a true schoolmistress who is safe for novice riders under instruction - she even gives pony rides to children!
Vera is absolutely safe with no buck, bolt or rear. She may notice something and snort at it but is not reactive. Vera can be occasionally girthy when in season but is still 100% reliable, predictable and safe.
Feeding and management: Vera is an easy doer. She is fed hay, Munga, Supafibre Mash and Digestive Eq when in full work.
Medical history: Vera is 100% sound and without issues.
Rider Suitability: While safe for a novice rider, Vera’s owner feels that an intermediate rider who can ride her effectively will be the best fit.
Reason for sale: Vera is extremely reluctantly for sale as her owner has a young horse coming through and she doesn’t have the capacity to have more than one horse in work.
