Introduction: Chelsea CSNZ is an absolute delight to ride, handle and compete. Chelsea is owned by the Harvey family at Patanga Park. She has excelled and progressed beautifully as a confidence builder schoolmaster and with a young horse on the way, she presents a wonderful opportunity for a buyer to purchase a young, sound, sane and rideable horse which will succeed at the top levels of the sport.
Bloodlines: Chelsea was undoubtedly bred in the purple - sired by Cassiano. Cassiano is by Cassini I, out of a Calypso II/ Maestose mare. Cassiano is a superbly athletic type with a tremendous jump and exceptional technique.
Chelsea is out of Lexie CSNZ by Lordano. Lordano has an outstanding character and extraordinary rideability. He was a remarkable show-jumper, delivering incredible results to 1.60m in his short competition career. Including finishing 3rd in the infamous and notorious Hamberg Derby! This course is considered by many to be one of the toughest courses in the world.
Conformation: Chelsea is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - compact, athletic and refined. Her paces display elasticity, power and activity suitable to progress up the levels.
Education, riding and experience: Chelsea is well established on the flat. She has automatic flying changes and laterals, making her rideable, adjustable and competitive on course.
Chelsea has competed successfully to 135. She is willing and responsive as well as competitive against the clock. Chelsea is honest, trustworthy, brave and careful around the course and doesn’t stop. To quote her rider ‘her job for us was all about getting my confidence back. She did that in spades. She would jump the moon for me if I asked her to’.
Chelsea is an absolute stable favourite and is regularly ridden by staff as well as the Harvey children. This variety of riders, as well as her natural kind temperament, has made her tolerant of rider mistakes and always aiming to please.
Chelsea is currently in work and competing.
Handling: Chelsea is patient and well mannered on the ground to rug, wash, shoe etc. She is very easy to travel in either a float or truck and self loads onto the float.
Behaviour: Chelsea has traveled all over Victoria, NSW, QLD and New Zealand. She is happy in big city environments as well as being stabled in basic ag show situations with fireworks every night. She travels well - loads and unloads without fuss and eats and drinks well when away from home.
Chelsea is sensible and reliable to ride and handle. She does not have any vices and is not at all ‘marey’. Chelsea enjoys socialising with other horses and is fun to have around.
Feeding and management: Chelsea does not have any special feeding or management requirements. Chelsea is happy to be stabled, yarded or paddocked on her own or in a herd situation.
Medical history: Chelsea does not have any medical issues. She is injury free and issue free.
Rider Suitability: Chelsea would suit a competitive junior or adult rider who is looking for a straightforward and competitive horse to move up the showjumping levels. She would also suit a professional to bring on through Futurity level, with the aim to compete in World Cup qualifiers in the future.
Reason for sale: Chelsea is for sale due to other young horses coming through.
