Introduction: Betty is a well bred and talented young horse, who has had a fabulous start to her ridden career and who absolutely loves to jump. She is bred to excel in either show jumping or eventing. Betty presents an amazing opportunity to take on a young horse with the bloodlines, conformation, scope and temperament to make it at the top level.
Bloodlines: Betty is exceptionally well bred - she is by the World Class, Braveheart R, out of Rosthwaite Nala (Stedinger).
Braveheart R is a beautiful grey stallion who is currently competing in Europe at 140 level - please see his FEI results record.
Braveheart is by Heartbreaker, out of Annatou Z. who is out of the legendary mare Rinnetou Z who competed with Piet Reimakers at 1,60m internationally and won countless Grand Prix's. Annatou Z is also the sister of April Love Z, the mother of All Star 5, Denis Lynch’s sensational Grand Prix horse.
Heartbreaker was successful at Grand Prix level with Peter Geerink and was placed top 20 WBFSH-ranking for jumping sires. In the international scene many of his offspring are competing at the highest level. These include Bertram Allen’s Romanov II, who won four Grand Prix’ (Bordeaux, Dortmund, La Baule and Paris); VDL Groep Zidane, ridden by Leopold van Asten, and the approved stallions Cidane, Toulon, Zambesi and Actionbreaker are doing very well. Heartbreaker is also the grandfather of world champion Earley. His grandchildren Hello Sanctos and Admara are both in the lead in the WBFSH-Rankings.
Rosthwaite Nala is by Stedinger, who was the undisputed winner of the licensing at the Oldenburg Stallion Days in 2002 and first reserve winner of the main premium in 2004. He completed an outstanding 70-day test in Neustadt/Dosse with an overall index of 131 points (dressage: 130.72 / jumping: 121.92) despite heavy breeding demands and qualified for the Bundeschampionat of German Dressage Horses in Warendorf in 2005 at the first attempt.
Stedinger was shown in dressage up to advanced level, but the focus was always on breeding. In 2013, he moved to Australia and, after only a few months, he won dressage competitions up to Intermediaire I and became ‘Australian Champion’ 2014.
Conformation: Betty has been allowed to mature slowly and, as such, will be sound throughout her competition career. Shee is a modern, compact and athletic warmblood whose size makes her suitable for a range of riders.
Education, riding and experience: Betty was professionally broken in at 3 years old by RC Performance Horses. She has been beautifully well started and has an excellent foundation.
Betty has shown scope, bravery and carefulness over a variety of jumps. She knows the correct leads, loves to jump and will jump anything! Betty is reliable on the flat and knows her leads. She has a basic understanding of, but natural instinct for, collection.
Over the last two years Betty has had solid blocks of professional schooling. She has been to lessons, cross country schooling, been ridden at many different venues, swam in dams, ridden down roads and trail ridden. Recently, she attended her first show, jumping 80-90. Betty has provent that she is well exposed and tolerant of the atmosphere. She is entered for Camden 3DE on the 17-18th of May.
Current workload/ fitness: Betty is currently in full work at Bimbadeen. She is safe to ride after a spell and doesn’t need a lot of work to be sensible.
Handling: Betty is generally sensible to handle and has had a variety of ground work. She is easy to catch, hard tie, groom, saddle, wash, float and for the farrier. Betty loves people and comes cantering up to the gate when called. She is such a quick learner and loves an adventure - loaded straight onto the float without hesitation on her very first training session.
Behaviour: Betty has no vices - no buck, rear, bolt etc. She has an established forward button, is willing, responsive and enjoys being with people and being worked.
Feeding and management: Betty does not require any specific feeding or management.
Medical history: Betty does not have any medical issues. She is a healthy, sane and sound young horse.
Rider Suitability: Betty requires a capable Rider defined as someone who has been riding / competing regularly for at least five years, has independent hands and balanced position/ seat; can walk, trot and canter on multiple horses both young and educated. Is confident in all situations.
Reason for sale: Betty is for sale on behalf of her owner, who has carefully overseen her education over the last two years, but unfortunately doesn’t have the time to enjoy her.
Ideal home: With Betty’s intelligence, talent, and willingness to please, she is perfect for a capable ammi or young rider to bring on. Ideally someone to continue her education - preferably under professional instruction - someone confident with young performance horses and not put off by size.
