Yandoo Detroit (Lionel) is a lovely and talented schoolmaster by the superstar showjumper Caracas, out of showjumping/eventing mare Yandoo Cleopatra. 

Lionel is not only beautiful enough for the show ring but he is easy to ride on the flat. He is the perfect schoolmaster - training elementary level dressage with established flying changes and all lateral work. Lionel has successfully competed in the hack ring, where he won everything he went in, including Champion Hack and the Memorial Award for overall performance and impression across all exhibits.

Lionel was professionally schooled as a young horse and has an excellent all round education. He is soft, adjustable and straightforward to compete. Lionel has successfully competed up to 1.25 and placed 5th place at the 2023 Australian Showjumping Championships. He requires a capable and confident rider who will support him while jumping.

Lionel has happily competed at all of the big venues and is completely unconcerned about the noise and chaos of Ag Shows. Lionel is 100% safe to ride and handle and is vice free. He is not fazed by a busy environment or loud noises. Lionel will happily trail ride all day and is well exposed to traffic, livestock and busy stable yards. 

Lionel is straightforward to handle, self loads into the truck/ float and is easy to shoe. He is fed gut health supplement.

He is 100% sound but does have changes on his xrays and, when showjumping, he needs a confident rider who supports him to the fence. As such, his owner has significantly dropped his price and is looking for a dressage, showing or allrounder home that will love and appreciate him.

Lionel is very sadly for sale as his owner/ rider has permanently injured her hand which has made jumping Lionel over bigger fences, a little challenging.
